Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PlayBeta app and website (the "Service"), operated by Playbeta Limited ("Playbeta," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using PlayBeta, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws of Nigeria to use PlayBeta. The Service is not intended for children under 13. By using PlayBeta, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate account information, including your name, email, and phone number, and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@playbeta.co if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. Booking & payments

PlayBeta allows you to discover and join games for free. When you book a facility (pitch or court) through the app, payment is processed securely via our payment partner, Korapay, in Nigerian Naira (₦). Bookings may be subject to a platform service fee, which will be shown to you before you confirm payment.

Cancellations and refunds for facility bookings are subject to the cancellation policy of the individual facility, which will be presented at the time of booking. Playbeta is not the operator of any facility and is not responsible for the condition, availability, or management of any venue.

5. Hosting games & conduct

When you host a game, you are responsible for accurate details (sport, venue, time, player limit) and for managing who joins your game. All users are expected to communicate respectfully, show up as agreed, and act in good faith toward other players and facility staff.

6. Teams

You may create or join a Team to play alongside the same group of people across multiple games. Team creators and administrators are responsible for managing their Team's membership and roster within the app's tools.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Provide false information about yourself, a game, or a booking
• Attempt to circumvent in-app payment for facility bookings or service fees
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through unauthorised access or automated scraping
• Use the Service to book facilities or organise games for any illegal activity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Facility bookings

Facility partners listed on PlayBeta are independent third parties. While we work to keep listings accurate, we do not guarantee the availability, quality, or condition of any facility. Any dispute regarding the facility itself should be raised with the facility, though we're happy to help mediate — contact info@playbeta.co.

9. Liability disclaimer

Playing sports carries inherent risk of injury. You participate in games and use booked facilities entirely at your own risk. Playbeta does not supervise games, provide medical services, or guarantee the safety of any venue. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Playbeta is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Service or participation in any game or booking made through it.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time by contacting info@playbeta.co. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your conduct poses a risk to other users or the platform.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
