PlayBeta is operated by Playbeta Limited ("Playbeta," "we," "us," or "our"), a company that helps people in Nigeria find, join, host, and book games and facilities for football, basketball, and paddle. This policy explains what information we collect through the PlayBeta app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and phone number when you register or update your profile.
• Location data: your device location, used to show you games and facilities near you. You can control location permissions in your device settings.
• Push notification tokens: a device identifier that lets us send you notifications about games, bookings, and team activity.
• Contacts (optional): if you choose to enable it, we access your device contacts so you can invite friends to games. We do not access contacts unless you grant this permission.
• Usage data: information about how you use the app, such as games joined or hosted, teams created, and general app activity, which helps us improve the product.
• Payment information: when you book a facility, payments are processed by our payment partner, Korapay. We do not collect or store your card, bank, or other payment credential details — Korapay handles this directly and shares with us only what is needed to confirm and reconcile your booking (such as transaction status and amount).

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate core features of the app, including matching you with nearby games and facilities
• Process facility bookings and platform service fees through Korapay
• Send you notifications about games, bookings, teams, and account activity
• Let you invite friends to games, where you've enabled contacts access
• Maintain the security and integrity of the platform, including preventing fraud and abuse
• Improve and develop new features based on how the app is used
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Korapay: to process facility booking payments and service fees on our behalf.
• Facility partners: when you book a pitch or court, we share the details necessary to fulfil that booking (such as your name and booking time) with the relevant facility.
• Other players: your name and profile information may be visible to other users in games and teams you participate in, as part of normal app functionality.
• Service providers: vendors who help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting and analytics providers, under obligations to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as transaction records) for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. You can update most account details directly in the app. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, contact us at info@playbeta.co and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

PlayBeta is not intended for children under 13, and use of the app requires an appropriate age for entering into agreements under Nigerian law. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
